Steven Farrell, Director of Vehicle Services

Steven Farrell assumed the role as the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Director of Vehicle Services on March 2, 2022. Prior to this role, he served as the Deputy Director of Branch Services.

As the Director of Vehicle Services, he oversees the policy and procedural requirements of vehicle titling and registrations.  This includes the processing units who handle mail-in title and registration requests, Electronic Vehicle Registration and Lien Transactions, license plate design and management, and vehicle data requests.

Steve is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel and combat veteran with 32 years of service to our nation. Prior to joining the SCDMV, he served as the US Army Equal Opportunity Training Proponent Chief. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. He holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute. Steve and his family reside in Northeast Columbia.
