Brandy Duncan headshot

Brandy Duncan is the General Counsel for the SCDMV. She oversees all the agency’s court cases and legal issues.

Prior to joining the SCDMV, Brandy served as an Assistant Attorney General within the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office adjudicating sexually violent predator commitment cases; was the General Counsel and an instructor for the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy; and was Assistant General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for the SCDMV.

Brandy attended Midlands Technical College and the College of Criminal Justice at the University of South Carolina earning an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (minors in Political Science and Psychology). She earned her Juris Doctorate from the School of Law at the University of South Carolina in 2005.

Brandy is also the current Legal Services Representative to the Vehicle Standing Committee of the American Association Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and is a member of the AAMVA Code Dictionary working group.
