At the close of business on Thursday, November 10, 2022, the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles' (SCDMV) branch in Woodruff located at 351 South Main Street in Spartanburg County will permanently close.
Customers in this area of the state will continue to receive the same services from the Spartanburg - Southport Road branch approximately 18 miles away from the current Woodruff office. The Spartanburg - Southport Road branch also serves international customers.
The agency's lease at the Woodruff branch was not renewed by the existing landlord. Spartanburg County continues to have three SCDMV branches - Southport Road, Fairforest Road, and Greer - meaning the number of branches in this county is equivalent to Charleston and Greenville.
All customers are encouraged to use SCDMVOnline.com to complete some of the most common transactions from home. You can renew your driver's license, exchange your license plate, pay reinstatement fees, and purchase a driving record, to name a few, without visiting a branch.
