The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) has added testing for Class E and F driver's licenses to the offerings at its Walterboro branch office as of July 21.
The Walterboro office, at 102 Mable T. Willis Blvd., now provides road tests for the Class E and F driver's licenses. A Class E license is required to drive non-commercial single unit vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) more than 26,000 pounds. Examples of Class E vehicles include trucks and motor homes (recreational vehicles/RVs). A Class F license is required to drive non-commercial combination vehicles with a GVW more than 26,000 pounds. Class F vehicles are the same as Class E vehicles plus a towed trailer or vehicle.
The change provides a new location for road tests in the wake of road tests being discontinued at the Orangeburg branch office on May 31.
