The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is required to publish on its Web site a list of states where the license requirements are at least as strict as those in South Carolina. To date, SCDMV has determined that the following states meet those requirements:

Maine (credentials issued after 11/15/08)

Maryland

Massachusetts

Michigan

Missouri

Montana

New Hampshire

New Jersey

North Carolina

Pennsylvania

Rhode Island

Tennessee

Texas

Virginia

West Virginia

Wisconsin

Additional states may be added prior to January 1, 2009.
