  Motor Carrier Online System
New Motor Carrier System

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) is developing a new Motor Carrier Services system that will improve business communications and allow online transactions in the future. SCDMV will implement the new system May 7 - 10, 2010. On Friday, May 7, Motor Carrier Services field offices and headquarters will not process IRP/IFTA transactions. Carriers can bring any transactions to the Motor Carrier offices on Friday, May 7, to be processed on Tuesday, May 11.

Field offices will not be available to process IRP/IFTA transactions until May 24, 2010. Until then, all Motor Carriers should visit the SCDMV Motor Carrier Headquarters in Blythewood for any IRP/IFTA transactions.

In the future, the new system will allow SCDMV to offer online services to Motor Carrier customers. Online transactions will include:

Additional IFTA decals

Duplicate IFTA licenses

Duplicate cab cards

Add jurisdictions

Increase weight groups

Renewals

Replace plates

File quarterly tax returns and amendments
